Conan O'Brien Returns To Host 2026 Oscars Ceremony

That’s right, after hosting the annual awards show for the first time earlier this month, Conan O’Brian will be returning to MC next year’s event. His efforts this year were professional, mildly amusing and conformed very nicely to the Academy’s wish to keep the event as dull and PC as possible. Can we have Ricky Gervais next year, please? First reactions to Disney’s live-action Snow White hit social media

Snow White First Reactions Are In - Does Disney's Latest Live-Action Remake Overcome Controversy To Deliver A Hit?

We’re not buying this at all! Despite all of the controversy surrounding Disney’s soon-to-be released re-make, re-imagining re-whatever…Zzzzzzz…of the 1937 classic Snow White, apparently it’s not as bad as we all feared. A select number of outlets and critics were invited to watch the film recently, and the general consensus is that it doesn’t suck. However, take this all with a pinch of salt, as these early studio-led screening reactions can’t always be relied on. Head to Screenrant for more info.

Update – the movie has been reviewed by most legit critics now, and….It’s not great. No surprise there. C’mon Disney, have some guts in the future and don’t cast to meet quotas or use CGI when there’s perfectly good actors out there for certain roles.

Wednesday season 2 will include a lot of horror references, including an episode based on slashers

Jenna Ortega Says 'Wednesday' Season 2 Will Have A Slasher Episode

Considering Wednesday is directed by one of the most visionary fantasy chaps in Hollywood, with a back catalogue chock-full of macabre imagery, plus the fact that its main star is death obsessed; it’s no surprise to learn that Season 2 of the show will be more horror based. Star Jenny Ortega had the following to say in a recent interview with Collider, “I feel like there are a lot of scenes and frames, and there’s a whole episode based off of slashers, and we make a lot of horror references,” Ortega said. “So, everything about it, I feel like we had a little bit more trust, and therefore, we felt like we could do bigger, more elaborate sequences, which is nice.” Head to Collider for more.

Has Saw XI been cancelled?

Saw XI 'Stalled at a Managerial Level' Due to Lionsgate and Producer Tensions - IGN

Like a freshly resurrected and rebuilt newborn Darth Vader would say – “Nooooooooooo”. That was out first reaction to news that Saw IX was reportedly being shelved because it’s producers had a massive hissy fit, fell out with each other, then threw their toys out of their prams. Then, we remembered that most of the movies in the franchise, apart from the first two or three, are pretty bad. It’s still a shame though. Some grisly Saw traps are better than none, right? Find your new happy place in the new teaser trailer for Happy Gilmore 2

First Official Trailer For 'Happy Gilmore 2' Released (Video)

In happier news (I know, terrible joke….), Adam Sandler is returning to one of his most iconic role with Happy Gilmore 2. News of the sequel first emerged at Netflix’s Upfront presentation in May, 2024, and now we have a mildly amusing trailer for the movie. It looks like fine, throwaway fun, and Netflix showed they could do decent sequels to beloved older movies with the pretty decent Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F last year. Vulture has the scoop!

Darren Aronofsky in talks to direct the Cujo remake

Darren Aronofsky May Remake Stephen King's CUJO for Netflix - Nerdist

Now, this is more like what the world needs. Sure, yet again Hollywood is mining the depths of their pre-existing IP to see how much they can rustle up at the box-office. However, matching a visionary director with a story by the “Master of Horror” himself, Stephen King, might just work. Aronofsky’s movies have always had seriously dark tones at the centre of their narratives, so perhaps Cujo could prove to be ne of the better King adaptations. Head over to those nice folk at Variety for more.

Jason Bourne Leaves Universal!

Bourne

In a somewhat surprising move, the once hugely popular Bourne series has left its spiritual home with distributor Universal Pictures, for pastures new. The gritty, action-packed, original movie was one of the reasons we got a similarly gritty new Bond when Sony unleashed Daniel Craig as 007 in 2004’s Casino Royale. Imagine that happening now – ha! Anyway, check out the scoop over at Empire.

As always, if you have anything cool to say about our articles, or even if you think they’re worse than the CGI dwarves in Snow White, let us know in the comments…Yee haw!
